Volunteers Continue Attack on Invasive Plants on August 2

Volunteers will gather once again to attack invasive plants on August 2 from 10 a.m. to noon. The event is organized by Richard and Naneen Drosse to focus on the historic Battle Island and Guard Lock area of the Oswego River. Participants will meet at their home at 16 Hickory Grove Spur in Fulton to launch their canoes and kayaks.

Oswego Council OKs Amending Charter

The proposal states: Should the (city) budget have a tax rate increase of 5 percent or more than the previous year’s tax rate, then the budget shall go to a public referendum in that year’s November election, by operation of law. The council approved a resolution sending it to the voters. The local law will be effective immediately upon being approved by the voters of the city at the November 4 general election.
