Novelis United Way employee campaign committee members and campaign coordinators Erin Nalle and Gabrielle Izard are excited about this year’s campaign and are looking forward to continuing its run of exceeding the previous year’s contributions.

The Oswego County Health Department is offering influenza immunization clinics for people age 19 and older weekdays at the Nick Sterio Public Health Clinic, 70 Bunner St., Oswego.

New York State is offering two-hour training sessions for residents to have the tools and resources to prepare for any type of disaster, respond accordingly and recover as quickly as possible. In Oswego, a session will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 28, in SUNY Oswego’s Marano Campus Center auditorium.

The comic play, The Pink Panther Strikes Again, will be presented by Quirk’s Players of G. Ray Bodley High School this weekend, October 17 and 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

As part of funding through the Strengthening Teacher and Leader Effectiveness Grant, the district held a Family Academy session, which gave parents the opportunity to learn how to help their child with writing and math, while students were able to enjoying games, crafts and refreshments.

The funds, which are part of the Voya Run For Something Better School Awards program, will provide Hannibal middle school students with a chance to get their heart rates pumping during various cardio exercises after school.
