On September 16, many dads, step-dads, grandfathers, uncles and other significant male caregivers brought their child to their Head Start/UPK classroom for New York State’s annual Dads Take Your Child To School Day.

Charlene Purchas, of Parish, daughter of Dawn Purchas of Parish, has enrolled in Rochester Institute of Technology’s National Technical Institute for the Deaf, the nation’s first and largest technological college for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Purchas is a 2014 graduate of Mexico High School in Mexico.

SUNY Oswego has teamed with SRC Inc. to deliver a customized MBA degree program to employees of the research and development company at its North Syracuse offices. More than 30 SRC employees began taking classes toward the master of business administration at SRC, from pre-MBA foundational courses to electives and core classes.

The cast of the upcoming Oswego Players’ production of “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” is busy preparing the mystery drama for a Halloween opening night performance. Under the direction of Troy Pepper, the play was adapted for the stage by Richard Abbott from the famous story by Robert Louis Stevenson.

The OHS Softball Players and Parents Association. will hold its annual fall rummage sale on October 18 from 9 a.m. – noon at the Oswego High School cafeteria. Hundreds of household items, clothing, sporting goods, holiday decorations and much, much more will be priced to sell.
