Students at Volney Elementary School in the Fulton City School District received a healthy dose of music recently, as the Vitamin L Project, a group of Ithaca-based singers, visited the school to promote positive character development through the power of music.

The Senegal St. Joseph Choir will offer an evening of life-affirming global music at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 15, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 103 W. 7th St. in Oswego, as part of SUNY Oswego’s Artswego Performing Arts Series. The concert, one of six 2014-15 programs presented in alternate campus and community locations during the renovation of Tyler Hall, will feature a repertoire ranging from familiar spirituals to traditional African songs.
