Longtime DIRT Modified car owner Dick Myers has joined forces with 2012 Oswego Speedway Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super champion Kreig Heroth for the upcoming 2015 season at the ‘Steel Palace.’
The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District Chapter of the National Honor Society will hold an induction ceremony for new members at 7 p.m. Nov. 18 in the APW Junior/Senior High School auditorium. The induction is open to the public and family and friends of the inductees are invited to attend.
Two Oswego Middle School students and eight Oswego High School students traveled to Cortland this past weekend to perform in the region’s Junior High Area All State Band, Orchestra and Chorus Festival. The students were given very demanding music to learn and they had the opportunity to work with very reputable guest conductors.
Nazareth College’s Department of Music and the Nazareth College Choirs are pleased to present Elijah on November 23, at 3 p.m. in Linehan Chapel. All choir members are students at Nazareth College, including Kaylee Greco of Mexico.
Daniel Heckert has been named Emergency Roadside Service Fleet Manager for AAA Western and Central New York’s Central Region. In his role, Heckert will coordinate and oversee daily operations of the Syracuse–based ERS team. He will ensure the delivery of AAA’s “best in class” service aimed at keeping AAA members on-the-go.
The Oswego County Salvation Army Corps has extended the application deadline for its Christmas assistance to run through November 21. Anyone who has not applied elsewhere may apply at either the Fulton or Oswego offices. Proof of residence for each household member must be provided.

United Way of Greater Oswego County Executive Director Melanie Trexler announces that Ali McGrath has been the named agency’s resource development director. A native of Oswego, McGrath is no stranger to United Way and the impact the agency has on Oswego County.
The Greater Pulaski Community Endowment Fund’s Advisory Committee has raised $9,155 toward its fundraising goal of $15,000. With 32 days remaining to raise $5,845 by December 15, the advisory committee is working hard to meet its goal in this final stretch. Doing so will make the fund eligible to receive a dollar-for-dollar matching grant of $15,000 from the John Ben Snow Memorial Trust.
