Grand Lecturer Visits Oswego District

On November 7, 63 brothers from Oswego and adjoining districts attended the Grand Lecture’s convention for the Oswego District. The meeting was held at the Oswego Masonic Hall/Lake City Lodge No. 127 at 765 E. Seneca St. A sumptuous turkey dinner with all the fixings was provided by Lake City Victoria Order of Easter Star prior to the meeting.

Oswego County Offices Are Closed Nov. 27 and 28

All Oswego County offices, including the solid waste transfer stations and recycling drop-off centers, will be closed Nov. 27 and 28 for Thanksgiving. The Bristol Hill Landfill and the Materials Recovery Facility will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 28, for major haulers only. The solid waste transfer stations and recycling drop-off centers will resume regular hours Nov. 29.

Lake Ontario Dredging Plan Update will be held Nov. 19 in Sodus

The Lake Ontario counties including Oswego, Cayuga, Wayne, Monroe, Orleans and Niagara, the city of Oswego and the town of Greece are jointly undertaking an update and expansion of the Lake Ontario “Regional Dredging Management Plan” completed in 2000. A public meeting to review findings and receive public feedback will be held at 7 p.m. on Nov. 19 at the Sodus Point Village Hall, 8356 Bay St., Sodus Point.

November is National Runaway Prevention Month

In recognition of November being National Runaway Prevention Month OCO’s Homeless Services will be busy spreading the word and educating the community on the issue of homeless youth in Oswego County. Staff members from OCO Homeless Services will be educating the public on what services are available for homeless youth in the county and what they can do to help.
