Jake Davenport, a G.Ray Bodley graduate and son of Gary Davenport of Fulton and Liz Weske of Waialua, Hawaii, formerly of Fulton – is currently the drummer for a Nashville based artist, Ben Gallaher. Gallaher and the band will be opening for the country artist Lee Brice on Thursday in Springfield, Illinois.

Avis Norton Williams died peacefully at age 93 on Sunday November 2, 2014, at St. Luke’s Nursing Home, Oswego, where she had been a resident for two years.
The G. Ray Bodley wrestling team visited Granby Elementary recently to talk about Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. Head wrestling coach Jeffrey Waldron and varsity coach Jack Popper brought along four members of the wrestling team for the PBIS Assembly on Halloween.
Responsibility awards were given to Volney Elementary students who displayed the character trait for the month of October at a recent “Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports” assembly.
Cold temperatures and a light drizzle didn’t deter students enrolled in the Public Safety and Justice Program at the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation from receiving a powerful vehicle extrication lesson recently in the parking lot of CiTi’s Mexico campus. With the help of the Mexico Volunteer Fire Department, students received a hands-on lesson in vehicle extrication under the guidance of instructors Mark Bender and Chuck Gabriel.
The community is invited to come celebrate the gift of giving and assist families of middle school students. Oswego Middle School will hold a backpack program fundraiser at the school on November 13 from 5-7 p.m. called “Empty Bowls.” The backpack program will assist families who find themselves in need of some additional support during school breaks.
The Oswego County Comets are never ready to end the riding season; however, with the cold air that is soon to be upon us, we had the time to catch up on some unfinished business. The Comets are dedicated to the camaraderie of all motorcycle enthusiasts and in helping our local community.
The Oswego County Legislature’s Public Safety Committee presented Deputy Robert Ramsey with a certificate of appreciation for his 20 years of service. Ramsey is a patrol officer with the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office.
