SUNY Oswego President Deborah F. Stanley has invited the public to enjoy free use of many of the college’s recreational and educational facilities during the second annual Cruisin’ the Campus at the Holidays from Dec. 22 to Jan. 25. Special hours will be in effect during Cruisin’ the Campus at the Holidays for a variety of activities: public skating, hiking, walking, running, library browsing, shopping, and viewing of art, history and planetarium shows and exhibits.
The Christmas card project was part of a holiday celebration held in Pisa’s room, as well as other second grade teachers Emily DeForge and Patricia Roland recently. Students also made decorative ornaments.
The Oswego County Legislature presented a certificate to officers and board members of the Salvation Army in recognition of the organization’s annual Red Kettle Campaign. The campaign kicked off Nov. 14 and runs until Dec. 24.
The Oswego Wal-Mart donated $3,500 to the Oswego City School District “Family Giving Program.” With the gift, each school will receive $500 toward its respective holiday projects.
The author of the newly released Arcadia Publishing book, Images of America: Pulaski and the Town of Richland, will be signing copies of the book at two locations. On Dec. 18 from 4 to 7 p.m., Lawrence Petry will be at the Pulaski Public Library, 4917 N. Jefferson St. On Dec. 20, he will be at the Pulaski Historical Society, 3428 Maple St., from 2 to 4 p.m.
Financially strapped city of Fulton taxpayers will see a zero percent increase in their current tax rate if the mayor’s $15.7 million proposed budget, published Tuesday (Dec. 9), is accepted by councilors next week. “We were able to balance the budget without a tax increase,” Mayor Ronald Woodward explained in an interview on Wednesday with Oswego County Today, by holding down spending and trimming the city’s workforce.
The Hannibal High School senior band recently delivered its annual Holiday Celebration Concert, performing an array of festive songs to the pleasure of a packed audience. Under the direction of Shirley Terrinoni, more than 30 students performed classic holiday songs, including “Frosty, the Snowman,” “Let it Snow,” and “Winter Wonderland.”
The Phoenix eighth grade and seventh grade bands and choruses put on a wonderful winter concert.
