Disaster Action Team volunteers from the Central New York Chapter of the American Red Cross provided assistance Monday to a family of six that was displaced from its home by a fire on County Route 54 in Pennellville. None of the family members was injured in the fire, which started at about 12:30 p.m. Monday. But the family did lose seven pets.
An investigation by the Oswego County Drug Task Force and the Fulton City Police Department lead to the arrest of Chance Nathaniel Stewart, 34, of Fulton. The investigation into sales of heroin resulted in the issuance of an Oswego County superior warrant of arrest for Stewart.
Community members and city officials gathered today to pay their respects and express their sadness for the loss of one of Fulton’s leaders, Hugh MacKenzie. Mayor Ronald Woodward acknowledged that with Mr. MacKenzie’s passing last week Fulton lost “a decent and hard-working community leader.”

James D. Raney, 44, of Oswego, died Thursday November 27, 2014, in University Hospital, Syracuse.
Staff at St. Luke Health Services held a food drive recently to benefit Catholic Charities of Oswego County. For a donation of a canned or boxed food item, St. Luke staff “dressed casually” for the day in support of Catholic Charities and their annual holiday food drive.
Carmella T. “Mickey” Silliman, 74, passed away unexpectedly Sunday November 30, 2014, at Upstate Hospital in Syracuse.
Terry L. Phillips, 63, a resident of Oswego, passed away Wednesday November 26, 2014, at his home.
