Marian E. Caufield, 88, a resident of the Manor at Susquehanna Village in Millersburg Pa., passed away on Wednesday February 18, 2015.
The City of Oswego Traffic Department will be establishing Temporary No Parking zones in selected areas throughout the city over the next few days. This temporary posting will allow the city’s DPW personnel to clear existing snow piles to the curb line, the mayor said. It will also enable them to cut back existing snow banks that obscure vision to drivers and endanger pedestrian traffic. These temporary signs will be identified by their bright orange color.
There’s plenty happening in snow sports in Winona and a record number of people are taking part. Considered a premiere event in upstate NY, the 35th Winona Forest Tourathon, which takes place this Saturday, is an annual event but only one of many that are being held in Winona Forest this season.
Operators at Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station returned Unit 2 to full power operation Tuesday morning (Feb. 24) after addressing an electrical issue. On February 18, technicians were performing maintenance when a valve was inadvertently activated, causing water levels in the reactor to rise temporarily.
The Pulaski Historical Society will hold a bingo marathon and bake sale on March 8 at the Pulaski American Legion, Robert E. Edwards Post 358, 3350 Maple Ave. The doors will open at 11 a.m. and the sale of bingo cards will start at noon.

Strikes and spares brought plenty of smiles to the residents of Morningstar Residential Care Center who participated in the monthly bowling outing. A number of residents enjoyed a trip to Lighthouse Lanes in Oswego for lunch and an afternoon of bowling.
Richard P. Bateman Sr., 82, a resident of Fulton, passed away Saturday February 21, 2015, at St. Luke Health Services.
Nearly six months after setting the all-time Novelis Supermodified track record at Oswego Speedway in the Graham Racing No. 99 Supermodified, the ‘Jersey Jet’ Joey Payne and Graham Racing have parted ways. The initial announcement of Payne’s release was made on his personal Facebook account last Thursday, with the release confirmed Tuesday morning through a statement from Graham Racing team owner, Ray Graham.
