Julian’s Army Assists In War Against Neuroblastoma
Julian Ross is fighting for his life. But, the youngster is hardly waging this war alone. He is supported by an army of hundreds, if not thousands. Some of Julian’s Army are planning a fundraiser for the child. A spaghetti dinner benefit will be held April 4 from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Old Timers’ Inn, 2030 County Route 1, Oswego.

Lions’ Wine and Beer Event Set March 20
The Oswego Lions Club will hold its 17th annual Wine and Beer tasting with silent auction on Friday, March 20, at the American Foundry in Oswego. The event is scheduled for 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., with pre-sale tickets $15 and $20 at the door the night of the event.

Academic, Life Lessons Abound In ‘Golden Goose’ Performance
First graders at Lura M. Sharp Elementary School received a lesson in geography, generosity, culture and compassion during a recent performance by the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse. Students were delighted throughout “The Golden Goose” performance, which transported them to a German village and offered them moral lessons throughout the journey.

While they all couldn’t be winners, students from the Hannibal Central School District displayed great comradery during a recent Battle of the Books competition, showcasing the attributes the contest attempts to instill in its participants.

Mayor Lifts Winter Parking Ban In Oswego
Mayor Thomas W. Gillen announced the suspension of the alternate side winter parking restrictions, effective Wednesday (March 18), at 12:01 a.m. In accordance with the Oswego City Code, section 257-27, the Mayor may suspend or remove the winter parking ban prior to March 31 at his discretion if winter conditions permit. Residents are asked to be aware of our unpredictable weather and to minimize parking on our streets in the event of any future snowfall.
