It was a bull market at Lura M. Sharp Elementary School when 17 teams from the school’s fifth grade classes invested $100,000 each in theoretical money into company stocks as they participated in The Stock Market Game. At the end of three months, seven of the teams had realized a profit, and one team stood out as the Stock Market Game champions.
The city still has a developer and is moving ahead with the best interest of the city in mind, the mayor said. Two lawsuits brought against the city lost; as did the two appeals, he added. Going forward, the plans will be totally transparent, he said and urged residents to contact him or the councilors for more information.
