The name change reflects the broader responsibilities and objectives that the department has assumed over the past several decades, said County Legislator Terry Wilbur, District 21, Hannibal, chairman of the Legislature’s Finance and Personnel Committee.
The city of Fulton Police Department will join local and national law enforcement officers and highway safety advocates all across the country for the 2015 national Click It or Ticket seat belt enforcement mobilization, May 18 through 31.
The annual Spruce-Up Day will again begin at 10 a.m., a two-hour change from the previous 8 a.m. start in years passed. Among the tasks on hand will be re-painting heat race victory lane, touching up the start/finish line stripe on the main straightaway, as well as cleaning up the walkway leading to the Speedway’s main entrance.
The Oswego County Legislature recently recognized Donald Ross for his dedication and commitment to the Oswego County Environmental Management Council. The Fulton resident was appointed to the council in 1983 and actively served for 31 years, helping conserve the environment for the health and well-being of county residents.
Gladys Peck Geddes, 97, formerly of Scriba, passed away Sunday April 19, 2015, at the Seneca Hill Manor.
All schools in the Fulton City School District have a buzzer system to allow entrance into the buildings to ensure the safety of their students and staff. But, just how effective is this system? Oswego County Today’s Mikayla Kemp visited the schools to see for herself. The following is her report. “I love my kid’s school. The teachers are great. But, safety is not as precise as they say,” said one Granby Elementary parent.

The 34th annual Memorial Day Salute Committee recently announced the winners of the poster contest held to create a patriotic poster in keeping with “Remember Those Who Served.” Taking first place as the winner of this year’s poster contest is Nicole Green with second place going to Stephanie Taplan.
Fulton Community Theatre will hold open auditions for its June production of the classic Neil Simon comedy, “Plaza Suite.” Auditions will be held on April 27, 28, 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. each day at the CNY Arts Center at Cayuga Community College’s Fulton Campus, 11 River Glen Plaza.
