Fulton Family YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day Set April 24
“At YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day, we are focusing on health and education to ensure fewer children are at an increased risk for childhood obesity and more children succeed in school,” said Lynnet Lamb, child care director, Fulton Family YMCA. “But it’s not just a single day of fun, active play and learning – it’s a kick off to helping parents get a jump on creating a healthier summer.”

Shineman Foundation Announces First Grants of 2015
Nonprofits big and small received grants totaling $410,000 from the Richard S. Shineman Foundation in the first of three 2015 grant rounds at its March board meeting. Projects reach a wide range of people and organizations that focus on education, community revitalization, economic growth, nutrition and fitness, and capital campaigns.

Oswego Councilors Wrestle With Sidewalk Liability
Who is responsible for sidewalk repair was discussed for more than 10 minutes at Monday night’s Planning and Development Committee. In the end, councilors left the door open for further discussion; but, took no action. Third Ward Councilor Mike Todd said the city should have a clear policy regarding who is responsible for repairing sidewalks.

New Additions To The Lighthouse Committee Aim To Bring An Added Spark
While the Oswego Lighthouse restoration project is well under way, the H. Lee White Maritime Museum committee felt it needed some fresh ideas in order to make the “Love Our Lighthouse” as successful as can be. Those fresh new ideas came in the form of four Oswego university students with a vast arrange of skills. The two seniors of the group are Chris Urato and Jack Gonzalez along with Audrey Diaz and Haliegh O’Sullivan who are both juniors.

Quest 2015 To Showcase Student, Faculty Scholarship, Creativity
For the past 35 years, the college has welcomed public attendance at the daylong conference. Presentations, demonstrations, scholarly posters and artwork exhibitions are free, and will take place in the Marano Campus Center and the nearby Richard S. Shineman Center for Science, Engineering and Innovation. Parking on campus that day is free.
