At approximately 3 a.m. on April 1, the New York State Assembly passed the last of 12 bills that make up New York’s 2015-16 budget. The state Senate had passed the legislation about four hours earlier. While technically not on time (pursuant to our state constitution, the budget is required to be completed before April 1) for all practical purposes, New York has its fifth timely budget.

Director Amy Price guided actors from big to small in the safe handling of swords and daggers and choreographed battle scenes for the upcoming musical based on The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Traffic Stop Results In Felony Drug Arrests

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Friday (April 3), investigators with the Oswego County Drug Task Force, pursuant to a narcotics investigation, conducted a traffic stop on State Route 48 near Vann Drive in the town of Granby. Upon further investigation, investigators located and seized 23.4 grams of crack cocaine, having an approximate street value of $2,400 as well as nine bags of heroin having an approximate street value of $180, according to the police report.

Oswego County residents who use the solid waste transfer stations now have the option of purchasing 13-gallon prepaid trash bags to dispose of their trash. The bright yellow bags are marked with the Oswego County seal and are available at the transfer stations.
