The Oswego County Health Department’s Environmental Division will hold its 25th annual tap water taste contest during “Health and Wellness Night,” June 11, at the Oswego Farmers’ Market on West First Street. The purpose of this friendly competition is to remind people of the importance of protecting the valuable water resources in Oswego County and across the state.
Five longtime Oswego County healthcare providers were recognized for their dedication to their patients and the community during a new provider reception held May 13. Honored as the practitioner of the year at the reception was Pediatrician Young Kim, MD, who has been providing care to area children for more than 30 years.

Memorial Day is sacred to all veterans and families of veterans, according to George Hoffman, the master of ceremonies. “We owe it to our fallen heroes to pause from our routine so that we may respectfully honor their lives and sacrifices for liberty and freedom,” he said. “Our defenders are ordinary Americans performing extraordinary deeds,” he added.
Robert W. Gehan, 75, a resident of Scriba, passed away on Sunday May 24, 2015, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Dorothy Teepell Stone of Kirkville and formerly of Phoenix, died Sunday, May 24, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse, with family at her side.
Teela is a pretty five-year-old tiger cat. She is small but has a big heart. She enjoys snuggling with her people and when she wants her head scratched, she’ll find you! She gets along well with other cats and the two dogs she lives with. She also has a lot of ambition.
