Academic Achievement Improves, Leighton Removed From State’s Focus List
There was plenty of cheering at Tuesday’s (May 19) Oswego School Board meeting. And, it had noting to do with the budget vote or board elections. At Tuesday’s meeting, Superintendent Ben Halsey announced that Leighton Elementary School was no longer on the state’s “Focus” list. “We have been working a long time to improve the academic performance in that building,” he said. “I am very happy to announce that Leighton has officially been removed from the focus group. I would like to congratulate the faculty that has dedicated themselves to this process.”

I would love to take my cat, Bernie, to Florida with me in the winter, but if I even put him in the car for a few minutes to take him to the vet he howls the whole time as if I was torturing him. If there a way to get him to enjoy or at least tolerate car trips.
Health Department will hold Rabies Clinic June 3 in West Monroe
The Oswego County Health Department will hold a rabies clinic from 6 to 8 p.m. June 3 at the West Monroe Town Highway Garage, 46 County Route 11. New York State law requires that all cats, dogs, and pet ferrets be vaccinated against rabies.
