The Senior Band from Hannibal Central School District is hosting a Senior Send-Off Concert at 7:30 p.m. on June 9 at the Hannibal High School Auditorium to celebrate this year’s seniors and to bid them a fond farewell.
All main events will run five extra laps in honor of the Memorial Day Weekend, which is known far and wide as one of the biggest racing weekends in the world with the Indianapolis 500, Monaco Grand Prix, Coca-Cola 600 and the ‘Super Spectacle’ at Oswego Speedway all taking place this weekend.
Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Elementary students created memories at their spring band and chorus concert, directed by chorus teacher Gil Lopez and band teacher Michele Catania. The fourth grade chorus struck a sentimental note with the song “Memories” by Teresa Jennings, which concluded the evening.
Audience members were “Happy” to listen to the Lura M. Sharp Elementary spring concert, the finale of both the chorus and band performances being the song “Happy” by Pharrell Williams.
The Oswego Sunrise Rotary Club is excited to announce an encore presentation of its successful Dinner and a Movie event again this year. The event will be held on May 27 at the Lake Ontario Events and Conference Center, 26 E. First St.
The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Junior/Senior High School held an Art and Music Festival on May 19 to showcase the talented individuals and groups at the school. Artwork lined the walls in the school and musicians and entertainers performed for the visitors.
The Pulaski Historical Society will have its annual meeting and covered dish supper on May 27 in the Carriage House. The dinner will start at 6 p.m. Terry Rossman, president of the society, at 7 p.m., will provide a summary and review of the year’s events.
The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau is accepting applications for mini-grants for 2015. Not-for-profit community organizations can apply for activities for youth during hours when school is not in session. Projects must be completed by the end of 2015 and provide a direct service to children and families in Oswego County.
Sydney DeLapp, a fifth grader from Kingsford Park Elementary School, who captured Oswego’s regional spelling bee final this past March, will travel to Washington DC for the Scripps National Spelling Bee that will be held May 24-29.
Henry E. Wolvin, 89, of Fulton, passed away on Saturday May 16, 2015, at James Square Health and Rehabilitation Centre in Syracuse.
