Area residents unable to view SUNY Oswego’s three May 16 commencement ceremonies live, or who would like to view them again, may catch rebroadcasts throughout the following week on Time Warner Cable.

The Fulton Veterans Council will host a Memorial Day ceremony beginning at 9 a.m. on May 25, in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The ceremony will continue to Mount Adnah Cemetery, the Fulton Veterans’ Park, and the Fulton War Memorial.
The formal ceremony, complete with a procession of faculty and college officers in full academic regalia, is sponsored each spring at Oswego by Vega, the women’s honor society. The audience included faculty, staff, students and students’ family members.

Brian Colombo, owner of Xtreme Underground in Oswego, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor in Oswego City Court on Tuesday. Columbo was facing four counts of Pharmaceutical Mislabeling from August of 2012. In August 2013, he was charged and pleaded not guilty that September. The charges stem from the 2012 raid where Oswego Police were looking for misbranded drugs – synthetic drugs.
Roulette wheels turned, dice hit the table, while exclamations of “Black Jack” and laughter could be heard as students from the SUNY Oswego Adopt-A-Grandparent Program hosted a “Casino Night” for residents at St. Luke Health Services.
Josephine (Jay) Caiella, a speech language pathologist for the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation, was recently honored by the Central New York Speech, Language, and Hearing Association as the 2015 Distinguished Service Award Winner.
The Fairley Elementary School cafeteria turned into a bustling laboratory Monday, as students performed several experiments during the first-ever Family Science Night. Dozens of budding scientists in kindergarten through fourth grades explored different projects set up throughout the cafeteria.
