Red Cross Assisting Ten People after Two Weekend Fires

Disaster Action Team volunteers David and Lee Webber first responded to the scene of a fire in the Sundown Trailer Park in Fulton Saturday morning, assisting three people from the trailer where the fire originated. Sunday morning, Mr. and Mrs. Webber provided temporary housing and food for two people after a fire in Constantia.

Bodley Seniors Eagerly Walk the Stage at 2015 Graduation Ceremony

Parents, family members, friends, teachers, school staff and administrators packed the Fulton Community Ice Arena on Saturday, anxiously awaiting the arrival of the G. Ray Bodley graduating class of 2015. A full house welcomed the young, lively group of students as they prepared to walk the stage and accept their diplomas. The Valedictorian encouraged her friends to work hard and persevere, in doing so they can do more than they’d ever thought possible. And, she inspired her peers to take pride in where they come from.

OHS Class Of 2015 Urged To “Steam” Into Future

After 13 years of school, it took about 33 minutes Saturday to turn the OHS Class of 2015 into freshly minted graduates. In his second graduation address as superintendent, Ben Halsey encouraged the graduates to get steamed up. “212. The concept is quite simple. At 211 degrees, water is hot! At 212 degrees, water boils and with boiling water comes steam. And, with steam – you can power a train,” the superintendent explained. “One degree of difference, between hot water and powering a locomotive.” He urged the class of 2015 to always give that one more degree of effort in every thing they do.

Sandra Scott Travels: Thousands Of Things To Do In 1000 Islands Region

It had been years since we had been to the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton and the museum has expanded so it was as if we had never visited. Our main purpose for visiting Clayton was to check out the new hotel which we heard was the best in the 1000 Islands. The 1000 Island Harbor Hotel has a wonderful location on the waterfront right in town. Our room had a balcony from which we would watch the sunset each night. The days were often cloudy with some sprinkles but come sunset time the horizon was ablaze with color.
