Driver Autographs, Ovarian Cancer Awareness Highlight Weekend Action at Oswego Speedway
Oswego Speedway continues its summer stretch of action Saturday, August 15 with Driver Autograph and Ovarian Cancer Awareness Night presented by Bosco’s and U-Pull U-Save Auto Parts. Saturday’s schedule includes a 50-lap Novelis Supermodified main event as well as a 30-lap Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super feature, as well as an Oswego Kartway driver exhibition during intermission.
Church To Host Robin Mark
Come out and join First United Methodist Church of Oswego, as they welcome world renowned contemporary Christian artist Robin Mark on September 17. Starting at 7 p.m. Mark will lead our Oswego community in an evening of worship unlike any worship you have experienced. Mark has been leading worship in his home Church, CFC, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, for more than 25 years.
Erie Canalway Photo Contest – Call for Entries
Entries are being accepted through August 28 for the 10th annual Erie Canalway Photo Contest. Winning photos will be featured in the 2016 Erie Canalway calendar, which is available free of charge in December.

Mansfield Retires After 37 Years With County
The Oswego County Legislature’s Government, Courts and Consumer Affairs Committee presented Georgiana Mansfield a certificate of appreciation for 37 years of service upon her retirement as Deputy County Clerk.
Landmark Oswego Restaurant Hit By Fire; Cause May Be Electrical
Update Aug. 11: “After an investigation by The city of Oswego Cause and Origin Team, the fire appears to be electrical, then spreading to the attic of the structure,” according to Fire Chief Jeff McCrobie.
Wade’s Diner on East Ninth Street was struck by fire shortly after 5 p.m. Aug. 10. Oswego Fire Department was on the scene at about 5:15 p.m. The blaze was knocked down within about a half hour.
Tour of Oswego Lighthouse Planned For August 22
The Preservation Association of Central New York will sponsor a tour of the Oswego Lighthouse on August 22, at 10 a.m. The Oswego Lighthouse is one of Central New York’s most iconic landmarks. While it no longer serves as a working lighthouse, it is undergoing an interior and exterior restoration by the H. Lee White Marine Museum. PACNY is pleased to present this rare opportunity to visit the Lighthouse.
