Sandy Sadley to Speak at ‘Connections’
On October 27, Women’s Network for Entrepreneurial Training and SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations will gather women from across New York State for Connections, a day-long conference to be held at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center in Oswego from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sandy Sadley, senior principle business analyst at Epicor Software, a leading provider of wholesale distribution software solutions, will present “Getting Inspired in the 9th Inning.”

Final Day Of Testing Of New Sirens Aug. 12
Four three-minute soundings of the new sirens installed by Exelon Generation and Entergy Nuclear will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 12, in the final testing before the system is approved by federal regulators. In the event of inclement weather the tests will be held Aug. 13.

Joyce Mitchell, the woman who confessed to assisting two convicted murderers escape from Clinton Correctional Facility, will still collect a public pension thanks to Albany’s failure to pass a widely supported reform measure. In her retirement years, whether spent in prison or elsewhere, we can rest assured that she’ll be able to cash her pension checks. If you were wondering about the 30 or so lawmakers in the last 10 years that have been convicted of crimes, or sanctioned or resigned from office, essentially admitting their guilt or wrongdoing, they too are eligible to receive their pensions.

St. Luke Adult Day Health Care Nurses To Offer Free Health Screenings at Farmers’ Market
Nurses from the St. Luke Health Services Adult Day Health Care Program will offer free blood pressure and blood glucose screenings during the Oswego Farmers’ Market on August 13 from 4:30 to 8 p.m. The screenings will be offered at the St. Luke bus, near the Civic Plaza.
