Hannibal High School teachers and students have united to bring back school spirit. They will work together to boost morale so everyone feels more welcomed and excited about their learning environment.
On December 20, from 8 a.m. – noon, Oswego Community Youth Orchestra will hold its very popular fundraiser at the Masonic Hall, Lake City Lodge #127, at 765 E. Seneca St. A full array of family and child activities will be offered for the Christmas OCYO Breakfast Buffet Benefit with Santa.
The city of Fulton got into the Christmas spirit during its annual tree lighting jubilee. Held at the municipal building both inside and outside, as well as at the Public Library, a crowd of considerable size showed up to partake in the festivities. Superintendent of Parks and Recreation, Barry Ostrander, said the event had an excellent turnout this year. “This is probably the biggest one yet. We’ve had good turnouts in the past but this appears to be the biggest,” said Ostrander.
Sandra C. Richardson, 67, of Oswego and formerly of Fulton, passed away Saturday December 5, 2015, after a long illness.
On Saturday (December 5), at approximately 6:20 a.m., State Police in Fulton responded to a one-car crash on County Route 45 in the town of Palermo. The driver was ejected and thrown sixty feet.
State Police in Hastings have arrested Rusty S. Hayes, 12/13/89, of 541 Salt Road, Constantia, after a report of shots being fired at the Dollar General in Constantia. The investigation determined that Hayes was attacked by another male subject after Hayes had exited the store, police said today (Dec. 6).
The Oswego State men’s ice hockey team downed Fredonia 3-2 with an overtime Alex Botten goal on Saturday night in the Marano Campus Center Arena. Oswego improves to 6-4-1 on the year but more importantly gets two points in the conference standings with its 5-3-1 SUNYAC mark.
The nationally-ranked Oswego State men’s basketball team dropped its first contest of the year 66-56 at Buffalo State on Saturday evening. With the loss, the Lakers go to 7-1 overall and 1-1 in SUNYAC action while the Bengals improve to 4-2, 1-1.
The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team made it five straight victories with a 2-0 win over Neumann University to close out a weekend series with the Knights on Saturday afternoon in the Marano Campus Center Arena.
The Oswego State women’s basketball team dropped an 86-62 contest to host Buffalo State on Saturday afternoon in the Bengals’ Sports Arena. With the loss, the Lakers fall to 1-6 overall and 0-2 in SUNYAC play.
