In this giving time of the year thoughts often turn to making the holiday season a little more enjoyable for those in need. For the Oswego County Board of Realtors helping area homeless youth is its mission for the season.
Legislature Chairman Kevin Gardner presented long-time legislator Michael K. Kunzwiler with a plaque to recognize his service to the county.
The Fulton Veterans Council attended the November meeting of the Oswego County Legislature where it presented a plaque to the governing body in appreciation of its support for veterans and their families.
Oswego Hospital welcomed its first baby of 2015 at 2:16 a.m. on New Year’s Day. Barry Lee Babcock was the hospital’s first newborn, weighing 8 pounds, 5 ounces. His length was 21 inches. Eric VanBuren (Sixth Ward) and Shawn Walker (Fourth Ward) were appointed president and vice president, respectively of the Oswego Common Council. The Oswego County Legislature got its house in order for 2015, and it looked quite similar to 2014. Kevin Gardner was re-elected as the chairman of the Oswego County Legislature. Fellow Republican Linda Lockwood was re-elected vice chair.
Edna Verdi Scardella, 84, of Syracuse, formerly of Fulton, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015, at Francis House in Syracuse.
Elizabeth G. Allen, 87, of Oswego, passed at St. Luke Health Services on Friday December 25, 2015.
Berneice Brewer 91, of Oswego, died Thursday December 24, 2015, in Seneca Hill Manor.
Sarah Canale, 89, of Oswego, died Thursday December 24, 2015, in St. Luke Health Services, Oswego.
I love it when people think out of the box creating an unexpected surprise. Actually, there were a lot of wonderful surprises when John and I visited Ann Arbor, Michigan. John and I stayed at the new Residence Inn with a great location in the center of Ann Arbor. Luckily, someone said to us, “Make sure you look for the Fairy Doors.” Fairy Doors are miniature replicas of the doors to some of the places in Ann Arbor.
