The grants, funded through the Environmental Protection Fund, will be matched by nearly $242,000 in private and local funding which will support projects to strengthen friends groups and enhance public access and recreational opportunities at parks and historic sites across the state. On March 11 and 12, 192 Orchestra students from Oswego and Cayuga counties will come together to prepare and perform an All County Festival Orchestra Concert. The concert will be held at the Oswego High School Faust Theater for the Performing Arts from 2 to 3 p.m. on March 12.
The Fulton City School District invites children who turn five years old by December 1, 2016, to register for kindergarten. Children who will turn four years old by December 1, 2016, are invited to register for our Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program.

The Buffalo office of the National Weather Service will be conducting a Skywarn spotter training seminar in Fulton, at the Oswego County Offices, 200 N. Second St., on March 16 at 7 p.m. The training session is sponsored by the Oswego County Office of Emergency Services and will last about two hours.
The Cat in the Hat visited Morningstar Residential Care Center to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday with a party for the residents in the facility’s Great Room. Residents enjoyed Dr. Seuss themed trivia and activities followed by a viewing of the Cat In The Hat movie.
The life and times of legendary Shawnee Chief Tecumseh, territorial claims and disputes in the Lake Ontario region, and Oswego’s involvement in the events leading up to the War of 1812 are among the topics presented at the sixth annual Oswego International War of 1812 Symposium scheduled for Friday, April 1 to Sunday, April 3.
