The council authorized the Planning and Zoning Director to submit a grant application to develop a master plan of the Fort Ontario Complex. The complex is a large recreational area in the city, according to Paul Lear, historic site manager of Fort Ontario. “It hasn’t seen any significant improvements since the 1960s,” he told the council. Councilors also unanimously approved the proposal submitted by Housing Visions Consultants for the development of the Flexo Wire site.
At 10:40 a.m. today (July 11), State Police responded to a report of an unconscious male involved in a logging accident off Mullen Road in the town of Volney. Investigation at the scene revealed Shane D. Moore, 54, of Fulton, had been cutting down trees at the site when he was struck by a falling branch.
Gary O. Mulcahey, 60, a resident of Oswego, passed away Monday morning July 11, 2016.
I have to say, as an Oswegonian, I was truly disappointed with the 4th of July parade this year. I decided to take the time to write this as I feel it holds much merit. With our current city disintegration, I thought perhaps this year’s parade would be a perfect opportunity to bring pride, fellowship, respect and humanity back to our city of Oswego. Instead of neighborly handshakes and smiles, I witnessed advertisements and profits to be made.
