The little village of Croghan, population 700, has three, yes, three museums. Truly amazing. The Maple Museum, located in a former school, is the place to learn about a product that is unique to North America. It is open year round, but not necessarily every day of the week. It pays to check the web site of any museum or historical site before visiting.
The New York State Department of Transportation will hold an open house meeting on September 19 regarding a resurfacing project on Route 104 in the city of Oswego. The open house will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. in the training room at the Oswego Fire Department, located at 35 E. Cayuga St.
The Oswego State women’s soccer team was handed its first loss of the 2016 campaign 3-2 to the University of Mount Union on Friday afternoon in the opening game of the Fredonia Blue Devils/Clarion Hotel Classic. Oswego’s loss drops its overall record to 1-1 while the Purple Raiders advance to 2-1.
Jeff Abold, the winner of Oswego Speedway’s 60th annual Budweiser International Classic 200 for Novelis Supermodifieds last Sunday, is making the trek to New Hampshire this weekend to take on the third and final leg of Supermodified racing’s Triple Crown, ISMA’s Star Classic 150 at Star Speedway.

Way better than the old tomato juice trick, which we all know absolutely does not work.
The Oswego County Historical Society will host a history walking tour of the Washington Square Historic District in Oswego on September 18 at 1:30 p.m. The walking tour will be part of the yearly lecture series program and the ongoing celebration of the Oswego County Bicentennial year.
At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Mary Costigan introduced Sarah Sunday, Aging Services Administrator, Oswego County Office of the Aging. She gave an informative overview of the services offered.
