‘Marriage of Figaro’ To Return Opera To Modernized Waterman Theatre

SUNY Oswego will welcome Oswego Opera Theater back to modernized and renovated Waterman Theatre at 2 p.m. Nov. 13, with Mozart’s timeless comic opera “The Marriage of Figaro.” Juan Francisco La Manna, the opera company’s artistic director and a music professor at SUNY Oswego, will conduct the semi-staged performance.

Please Support Scott Del Conte for Supreme Court Justice

Election Day is rapidly approaching and there are a number of candidates running for office this year in addition to the Presidential contest dominating the news. One of those positions is Justice of the Supreme Court in 5th Judicial District. This jurisdiction covers six counties and is a mid-level judgeship in New York State, which is not to be confused with the nine positions of the United States Supreme Court in Washington DC.

Oswego Professor Part of Exhibition, Panel Discussion On Suffrage, Exercising Right To Vote

Dr. Allison Rank, assistant professor of Political Science at SUNY Oswego will be one of the three speakers on the panel at next week’s Populating the Polls: Then and Now There will also be An exhibition of posters created by upstate New York designers urging residents to get out to the polls and vote. Just recently, Dr. Rank spearheaded Vote Oswego, which collected 2,637 forms to register SUNY Oswego students to vote.

County Legislature Recognizes Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Members of the Oswego Legislature Human Services Committee presented staff members from Oswego County Opportunities Services to Aid Families program with a proclamation recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Oswego County. SAF, the domestic violence and rape crisis program serving Oswego County, served almost 600 victims and survivors in 2015.
