Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire that
destroyed a Tallman Street home in Oswego earlier this morning (April 28). The residence is a total loss, fire officials said. A neighboring home sustained radiant heat damage and melted siding. No injuries were reported.
Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner and Syracuse Police Chief Frank Fowler today (April 27) announced the indictment of a total of 52 people, including many charged with operating a drug trafficking ring that transported heroin and cocaine throughout Onondaga, Oswego, Madison, Cortland and St. Lawrence counties; as well as two groups of individuals within this ring who are alleged to have conspired to murder their rivals. Some Oswego County residents are among those charged.

St. Luke Family of Caring volunteers were recognized for the tremendous contributions made in the lives of those served by the local healthcare affiliates during a gathering held in their honor at the Elks Lodge in Oswego. The gathering brought together volunteers of all ages from St. Luke Health Services, Bishop’s Commons and St. Francis Commons in Oswego and Michaud Health Services in Fulton.
Kevin Gardner, Chairman of the Oswego County Legislature, announced today (April 27), his candidacy for the position of County Treasurer. Gardner is a 13-year veteran of the Oswego County Legislature being first elected in 2004.

The probability of extensive flooding and significant property loss is extremely high. The imminent threat to south shore communities necessitates a proactive engagement by state and federal officials.
