Benjamin Allocco of SUNY Oswego’s English and creative writing faculty has earned bestseller status in a very modern format — the Amazon Kindle charts — with his futuristic novel, “Deathform.” The adjunct professor’s sci-fi thriller, featuring a crew of interplanetary smugglers trying to survive an alien monster loose on their spacecraft, already had captured an audience.

Sessions will be held in both Oswego and Central Square. The Oswego classes begin June 20, running from 4 to 6: 30 p.m. every Tuesday through August 1.

At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Dan Farfaglia, right, introduced Phil Church, Oswego County Administrator and a driving force for the creation of a National Marine Sanctuary in eastern Lake Ontario. He gave an overview of the more than 20 known and 48 suspected historic shipwrecks and one aircraft that are within the Lake Ontario nomination area and a history and updated timeline of the nomination and designation process.
