Foster Park Fills With Hundreds for ‘A Day in the Park’

“It was a fabulous Day in Foster Park!” said Kelley Weaver, President of Friends of Fulton Parks. Recently, the volunteer non-profit group aimed at restoring Fulton’s parks hosted “A Day in the Park” at Foster Park offering a free evening of fun for all. “Many groups, organizations, and individuals each brought their piece to the puzzle and the result was an afternoon filled with family, friends, fun, and physical activity in Foster Park,” Weaver said. “The event was a success because of everyone who was involved, and the Oswego Federal Credit Union who sponsored the event.”

Town of Boylston Man Found Pinned Beneath Lawn Tractor

On Sunday, June 11, at approximately 11 a.m., State Police responded to 7139 County Route 17 in the town of Boylston for a man that was trapped under a commercial lawn tractor. He was transported to Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown where he was pronounced deceased. The investigation is continuing.

Shullick Jr., Snyder Survive Oswego Twin 35s to Lead Current Triple Crown Standings

A wild Saturday night at Oswego Speedway tested the determination of all of the Novelis Supermodifieds in the pit area, especially those contending for the Shea Concrete Triple Crown Championship Series of Supermodified racing presented by ASI Racewear. When all was said and done at the conclusion of two 35-lap feature events, the overall TCCS winner was Dave Shullick Jr. in the Nicotra Racing No. 2 with finishes of second and first on the evening.

FFD Honors Former Assistant Chief Killed In Line Of Duty

It was 90 years ago today when Fulton Fire Department’s Assistant Chief, Elsworth J. Rude rushed into a burning house in attempt to save what was assumed to be sleeping members of the Dwyer family. At 63 years old, Assistant Chief Rude showed no hesitation to perform his duties although ultimately, that meant losing his life. Today, incoming Chief of the Fulton Fire Department, David Eiffe shared the story of Fulton’s own hero Elsworth Rude on the 90th anniversary of his death during a remembrance ceremony in his honor.
