Mary E. Gosek, 55, and a resident of Oswego Town passed away Saturday morning June 3, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral services for Ann M. Prusch will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 5, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, followed by a graveside service at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Hair Nation will rock the stage at Sharkey’s of Liverpool on Wednesday, June 7. The four members of Hair Nation will bring their rocking renditions of 80’s Sunset Strip rock from artists such as Aero Smith, Bon Jovi, Whiskey A Go Go and more. Their big sound will accompany their big hair as the group, having formed seventeen years ago, is no stranger to supplying the hard rock in style.
There are actually three Durbar Squares in Nepal’s Kathmandu Valley, all of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The most famous is Basantapur Durbar Square which is considered the traditional heart of the old town and is famed for its traditional architecture. The Basantapur Durbar Square was in front of Nepal’s 19th century royal residence. It was hard hit in the 2015 earthquake when more than half of the temples were destroyed. Some buildings were badly damaged but are still standing and in the process of being repaired.
Several Oswego County and local agencies are continuing to monitor flooding conditions and offer assistance to residents along the Lake Ontario shoreline. The Oswego County Health Department is offering Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) vaccine at no cost to Oswego County residents who have been affected by the high water levels.
Michael Harter, a lifetime resident of the city of Oswego, has announced his candidacy for a seat on the Common Council as First Ward Councilor. Raised in the Oswego community, Harter is the father of two sons who attend Oswego city schools. He has been a technology teacher in the Phoenix Central School District for the past 19 years and is actively involved in many youth sports programs.
Due the rainy weather that occurred during May’s scheduled Bird Song Saunter, the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center has rescheduled the program. On June 15 at 7 p.m. (rain date, June 16), delight in an evening concert along woodland trails of the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center.
