Morningstar Salutes Its Veterans

Proud veterans gathered to reminisce, share their experiences and honor their fellow veterans as Morningstar Residential Care Center hosted a Veterans’ Day Luncheon to recognize its residents that served in the United States Armed Forces. Residents were treated to a special luncheon featuring prime rib with all the fixings, shrimp cocktail and homemade chocolate cheesecake.

Council Sets Public Hearings, Transfers Properties To Land Bank

A public hearing regarding the Empire State Development Round 5 Restore New York, Preserving Landmarks of Oswego West, will be held at 7:05 p.m. on Nov. 27 in the Council Chamber. A second public hearing, regarding the New York State Lake Ontario Flood Relief Program, was scheduled for 7:10 p.m. Nov. 27, also in the Council Chamber. The council also approved the transfer of three city-owned properties to the Oswego County Land Bank. The three properties in are: 28 Ontario (First Ward), 118 E. Fourth (Fourth Ward), and 249 W. Seventh (Fifth Ward).

Opioid Overdose Training Offered On Nov. 27

The free classes are tailored for first responders and those likely to witness an opioid overdose. The first session runs from 10 to 11:30 a.m., with a second to follow from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Both take place at the Oswego County Health Department, 70 Bunner St., Oswego. The third and fourth sessions are scheduled to run from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Ringgold Fire Station, 12 Lake St., Pulaski.
