Fused glass artist Diane Chepko-Sade is being featured as Artist of the Month for November at the Riverside Artisans Cooperative. Her creative glass artwork has been displayed at the Riverside Artisans for several years. Chepko-Sade’s art consists of fusing shapes and colors in a kiln, resulting in striking and dramatic images.

Students ‘See, Touch, Learn And Interact’ With Novelis Technology

An eager crowd of students and parents packed the Oswego High School cafeteria on Nov. 9 to get a first-hand look at some of the career opportunities awaiting them in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The STEM Career Exploration Night featured employees and hardware from Novelis, whose aluminum processing plant in Oswego employs more than 1,000 workers.

Birdlebough Students, Staff Honor Military Veterans

John C. Birdlebough High School students and staff members honored the nation’s bravest men and women by offering a special tribute in recognition of Veterans’ Day. Local military recruiters from various branches and members of the local VFW Post 5540 honor guard graced the stage, adjacent to the fallen soldier battle cross, as student Catherine Musumeci offered touching opening remarks.

King Salmon Video Highlights Value, High-Tech Fish Tracking

New York Sea Grant has released a video highlighting the value of king salmon to the Lake Ontario ecosystem and local economies, and how Cornell University researchers and Sea Grant personnel are using pop-off satellite archival tags developed to work in freshwater to collect unprecedented data about salmon movement and behavior. The Legends are Here – Auditioning Set For Local Talent, Venues

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. A show similar to the Las Vegas “Legends in Concert,” the longest running show since 1983, is now forming in the Greater Syracuse area. “A Time for Legends” is here and seeking area talent and venues. An Oswego and Syracuse venue might be chosen as a monthly dinner and show host, in addition to larger one night shows throughout Upstate NY.
