Kinney Helps Brighten Seniors’ Holiday
Kinney Drugs is collecting donations of gifts for area seniors. The gifts will be distributed to those that participate in Oswego County Opportunities’ Home Delivered Meals program and those that visit OCO’s Senior Dining and Activity Center, on Church Street in Mexico.

Sgt. James Rude Receives Award For Helping Ukrainian Man
New York Army National Guard Sgt. James Rude, a Parish resident, was one of three soldiers who received an award for aiding a distressed Ukrainian civilian in the city of Lviv earlier this month.
Oswego Players To Host Auditions For ART
The Oswego Players will host auditions for the TONY award winning comedy ART on January 4 and 5 from 5 until 7 p.m. The auditions will be held at the Frances Marion Brown Theater located in in Oswego Civic Arts Center Building, in Fort Ontario Park, in Oswego.
First Day Hike: Military Musicology Walking Tour at Fort Ontario
Friends of Fort Ontario AmeriCorps staffer Corey King will lead a unique First Day Hike at 10 a.m. New Year’s Day around the 75-acre Fort Ontario National Registered District. Hikers will register and assemble inside the old stone fort and march about one mile at a moderate pace around the buildings, grounds, foundations, roads, and locations of battles and significant events in the fort’s 263-year history.

Hour Of Code Excites, Engages Palermo Students
Palermo Elementary students transformed into game programmers during the annual Hour of Code celebration. They were joined by millions of other students from around the world who were introduced to computer science and programming, as part of the global movement by Computer Science Education Week and code.org.
