The J&A Mechanical Midget hockey team of the Oswego Minor Hockey Association picked up wins over Thousand Islands and Camillus recently, while also losing close games against Lysander and Clinton.
Mary C. “Tina” DeMott, 55, of Hannibal, passed away Friday December 15, 2017, at home surrounded by her family.
On December 16, at approximately 9:22 a.m., a bank robbery was reported at Fulton Savings Bank, 219 County Route 57, in the town of Schroeppel. Shortly thereafter, a Village of Phoenix Police Officer observed the suspect vehicle and stopped the vehicle, ultimately apprehending the suspect.
Anglynn “Lynn” Marie Duttinger, 68, of Chesapeake, Va., beloved mother and grandmother, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Tuesday December 12, 2017. Lynn relocated to Chesapeake from upstate New York in 2011 after the passing of her beloved husband, Robert.

The Parade of Trees for 2017 is in the history books and if by chance you missed it this year, you missed a great one. We had 14 trees in total and you would think with that number, there would be a duplicates but that wasn’t the case. Each of the trees was as unique and imaginative as an individual snowflake as it falls to Earth.
Ahead of Oswego’s Speedway’s 68th season opener featuring Jim Shampine Memorial Twin 50s for the Supermodifieds on May 26, track officials have announced a small number of rule changes for the division in anticipation of the 2018 season. The only Supermodified rule adjustments for this coming season will consist of a shock change as well as a new outline for shovel type tails on the rear section of the race cars.
