The Fulton City School District has embarked on a Digital Learning Initiative to provide digital equality as a way to empower all students with 21st Century tools.
The swearing in ceremony for the five new Oswego councilors and first council meeting of 2018 will be held January 1 at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 13 W. Oneida St., Oswego. The Fulton Common Council will hold a special / inaugural meeting on January 1 at 1 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building, 141 S. First St., Fulton.

The Center for Weight Loss and Surgery at Oswego Health is holding free informational seminars at the Central Square and Fulton Medical Centers, as well as offering one on a Saturday in Oswego. The Central Square seminar will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on January 17, while the Fulton event will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on January 24. In addition, a noon seminar will be held on February 10 in Oswego.
Community members with Type 2 diabetes or those at risk for the disease can still sign up for Oswego Health’s free class taught by the health system’s nurse educators. The Fulton Medical Center will host the six-week class on Wednesdays, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. starting January 10 through February 14.
G&C Foods recently donated $15,000 to the North Area Family YMCA in Liverpool and $20,000 to the Fulton Family YMCA, continuing its support of families and children in need in our neighborhoods.
Students from the Paul V. Moore High School’s DECA chapter attended the Region 9 DECA competition on December 19 at LeMoyne College. They competed against more than 450 students from around the CNY region.
Each grade level teacher nominated one student from his or her classroom because the honoree had proven to be a role model student both inside and outside of the classroom.
