Assistant Principal Patrick Vrooman said the quarterly honor is awarded to students in grades five through eight who meet the following criteria: take the initiative to do the right thing without having to be told, practice good work habits, consistency follow classroom and school rules, serve as a positive role model to others inside and outside of school and contribute to the well-being of the larger community through service.

Stepping Stones Day Program Students Perform Greek-Inspired Play

The Blue Team at the Stepping Stones Day Program wrapped up its English language arts study of Greek mythology by writing and performing an original play entitled “Good vs. Evil.” During the academic unit, the class read the novel “The Lightning Thief” and compared the characters to those from ancient Greek Mythology.

Mayor Barlow Lifts State of Emergency for City of Oswego

Mayor Billy Barlow has lifted the State of Emergency in the city of Oswego and has lifted the travel advisory put in place during yesterday’s (Dec. 27) winter storm. Residents may resume travel and the normal winter parking laws are now back in effect. Mayor Barlow praised the efforts of the Oswego Department of Public Works for their around the clock response to the storm and says the city will focus on snow removal in the comings days.
