Mexico Middle School Students To Offer ‘Aladdin’ Musical Production

Princess Jasmine, Aladdin, Genie, Jafar and the people of Agrabah will visit Mexico Middle School when the Disney classic “Aladdin” comes to life in four upcoming performances. More than 50 students in grades five through eight have worked diligently on the musical production each week day for the past couple of months.

Forty-five G. Ray Bodley High School students proved they are committed to scholarship, leadership, character and service, all required components of the National Honor Society. For their academic and community efforts, the students were inducted into GRB’s Joseph Campolieta Chapter of the National Honor Society during a recent ceremony in the high school auditorium.

Plath Appointed To Vacant Seat On Fulton BOE

A sudden resignation last month left the Fulton City School District Board of Education grappling with options regarding the vacant seat. After soliciting letters of interest from community members willing to fill the position, five people came forward with interest in the position. After reviewing the interested parties, board vice president Dan Pawlewicz made a motion to appoint Christine Plath to the position at Tuesday’s (Jan 24) regular meeting. The motion was approved with four votes in favor and one abstaining vote from board member Lynn Lyons.

Court Rejects Effort to Dismiss Lawsuit Challenging $7.6 billion Nuclear Subsidy In NYS’s Clean Energy Standard

Two weeks after the Federal Energy Commission rejected a Department of Energy proposal for federal subsidies to prop up uncompetitive nuclear plants , the New York State Supreme Court in Albany County rejected motions to dismiss a lawsuit challenging billions in ratepayer subsidies for aging nuclear plants in New York’s Clean Energy Standard. The case is now headed to trial.
