Kathyann “Kathy” Nosewicz, 61, of Martville, went to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on her birthday, Saturday January 13, 2018.
Mayor Billy Barlow announced today (Jan. 18) that, for the second year in a row, city overtime expenses have declined. Total overtime for all city of Oswego departments combined in 2017 was $857,395. The total for 2017 was significantly less than the official total for 2016 at $1,008,502, the first year of Mayor Barlow’s administration, and significantly less than the total in 2015 at $1,228,384.

Advanced metal manufacturing career readiness opportunities are abound for Oswego County youth, thanks to the continued development of the Oswego County Pathways in Technology Early College High School. Recruitment for those opportunities recently began with P-TECH Principal Bill Lynch and counselor Dan Lupa, who offered multiple recruitment meetings for eighth graders in all nine school districts throughout Oswego County.
Students in the Credit Accrual and Recovery for Everyone program found the secret to a stress-free, worry-free studying environment – puppies! Liane Benedict, staff development coordinator at the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation, brought eight nine-week-old yellow Labrador puppies to the program in the basement of Sheldon Hall at SUNY Oswego.
The year was 2001 when two vintage snowmobile buddies Bill Monette and Joe Racheal decided to put on a vintage snowmobile show and race at the Oswego County Fairgrounds in Sandy Creek. The idea came about as a result of a long-time show called The Eastern Ride-in held at Borio’s restaurant on Onieda Lake a regional event organized by the Vintage Snowmobile Club of America.
Kindergarten registration for the Oswego City School District 2018-19 school year will be held from Feb. 20 through 23 at the district education center. Registration packets for all families with children turning 5 years old on or before December 1, 2018, will be mailed during the first week of February.
