Area students can learn more this summer about healthcare careers by taking part in many hands-on activities at Oswego Hospital’s MASH Camp. This year’s MASH Camp (Medical Academy of Science and Health) is open to students entering the eighth or ninth grades in the fall of 2018.
At about 3 p.m. today (March 27), the New York State Police were notified of a possible threat of school violence at the Mexico High School. The threat involved a digital image posted to snap chat. The investigation determined that a student photographed another student holding a firearm and posted the image with a caption “Next School Shooter” on snap chat.
State Police said today (March 27) they arrested Amy Stoutenger, 48, and Ralph A. Stoutenger III, 49, from Fulton for Insurance Fraud 2nd degree (C-felony), Offer to File False Instrument 1st degree (E-felony), Fraudulent Insurance Practices -Workers Compensation Law 114 sub 3 (E-felony) and Offering a False Statement – Workers Compensation Law 96 (E-felony).
Volunteer “patients” are needed from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 28 to simulate receiving a vaccine at the Oswego County Health Department’s annual public health drill. The drill involves setting up an immunization clinic, registering patients and simulating immunizations at the Nick Sterio Public Health Clinic, 70 Bunner St., Oswego.
In the Northern New York State High School VEX Championship, GRB’s Team 6911A finished the technology qualification rounds in fifth place, with five wins and two losses.
