Exhibition To Feature Work Of Artists-In-Residence With Jowonio Children
Starting April 12, SUNY Oswego’s Syracuse campus in the Atrium on Clinton Square will present group work guided by artists-in-residence working from 2002-12 with children at Jowonio, an inclusive Syracuse preschool. A free public artists’ reception will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at SUNY Oswego’s downtown gallery at 2 Clinton Square in Syracuse.

Festival Celebrates Book Character ‘Madeline’ and Her Connection To Oswego
Ludwig Bemelmans, author of the popular children’s books about the little girl named Madeline, served as a private in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Ontario in 1917. At the time, Fort Ontario was the largest Army hospital installation in the United States.

The goals of Kick Butts Day are to raise awareness of the problem of tobacco use in their state or community, encourage youth to reject the tobacco industry’s deceptive marketing and stay tobacco-free, and to urge elected officials to take action to protect kids from tobacco.
