From a child using a book that opens their imagination, to a job seeker learning the skills needed to enter the workforce, libraries have long been the foundation of our local communities. However, just as times have changed, so have the needs of our public libraries and the demands of their patrons.

At Mexico Elementary School, that water is the educational path of students in grades pre-kindergarten through four. The lighthouse is the school and its keepers are the newly formed Student Lighthouse Team.
Operators at Exelon Generation’s Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station removed Unit 2 from service just after midnight on Sunday (April 15) to begin a planned refueling outage. More than 1,700 highly-skilled local and regional union and tradespeople are in the area to support the outage. For several weeks, they will fill nearby hotels to capacity and bolster local businesses during a typically slower tourism period.
