Annual Family Fun Walk for Autism Draws Hundreds

It was a perfect day for a walk. And, hundreds of people took advantage of the sunny warm weather to stroll around the Wilber Track to help rause awarebess of autism. Besides the organized three-mile walk, the 12th annual Family Fun Walk for Autism feature plenty of activities inside the near by gym at Leighton Elementary School on Saturday. Representatives from several agencies were available to discuss the services they provide, and some great raffles to take a chance on.

There is an old saying of what’s old is new again. That played out Saturday night at the Fulton Speedway as the track returned to its roots with the 358 Modifieds as the headline division. A fantastic field of 124 cars filled the pits for the opening points night to kick-off the 2018 points season with great racing in all divisions on Ferris Mowers night.

Several members of our family decided to spend Christmas in San Felipe, where our oldest son has a vacation house. San Felipe is a small, sleepy fishing village on the east coast of the Baja Peninsula, 125 miles south of Calexico. The area had changed from the one and only other time my husband, John, and I had visited, 20 years earlier. At one point, we went into the village to a restaurant for dinner, where we had what my son said was his favorite meal while in San Felipe. The dish was the Seven Seas Soup served at Chuy’s.
