On Monday (May 28), at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Oswego City Police Department received information that there was a suspicious picture on social media. The picture was of a juvenile holding a rifle that appeared to be real with a threat made towards an unspecified school. The threat was determined to not be credible. However, Oswego Police continued the investigation and ultimately charged one 13-year-old boy with the offense, if committed by an adult, of Falsely Reporting an Incident in the Third Degree.

Dozens of veterans, community members and veterans service organizations traveled to various locations throughout Fulton to honor the nation’s fallen. Brian Hartman of Alexandria Bay will remember this season’s walleye fishing for years to come, thanks to the record-sized fish he recently caught in the St. Lawrence River. The 32-inch fish was weighed three times to verify its official weight of 18 pounds, two ounces. His massive catch proves that when it comes to fishing, New York State, and especially Lake Ontario, the Thousand Islands and the St. Lawrence River Valley, is the place to be.

The fifth annual Lake Ontario Central New York Lighthouse Challenge will take place this year on August 4 and 5. The challenge is to visit eight unique New York lighthouses within two days.
