Gillibrand, Lankford Lead 24 Senate Colleagues In Effort To Deter Iranian Nuclear Program; Senators Call On Admin To Prepare Snapback Mechanism
Today, U.S. Senators Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and James Lankford (R-OK) announced a bipartisan push with 24 of their Senate colleagues to deter Iran from advancing its nuclear weapon capability. In February, the International Atomic Energy Agency reported the discovery of nearly weapons-grade uranium particles. This report comes as Iran has made significant progress in its nuclear program, including the capacity to make enough weapons-grade uranium for a nuclear bomb in as little as 12 days.
