Third grade students from Granby Elementary School in Mrs. Murdoch’s class and their kindergarten buddies in Mrs. Van Buren’s classroom joined forces with Kelly Weaver, Friends of Fulton City Parks, to spruce up Recreation Park as part of a project based learning initiative called “taking pride in your community.”

The students along with parent volunteers took to work picking up trash, branches and bags and bags of leaves from the local park.
“We are being green!” was the sentiment as the students worked furiously to get the job done.
The students’ task is two-fold with another project coming up to bring a free lending library to the west side of the city that will be housed at the recreation park location.
