David E. Vayner Library recently celebrated their tenth anniversary on June 22nd. A celebration was held on June 23rd at the library. Around 50 people attended, including: the Vayner family, local city officials, volunteers, and library patrons.

The library was opened in 1999 in a room in the Catholic Charities building. It was named in honor of David E. Vayner, son of Eleanor and Edward Vayner. In 2006, the Davie E. Vayner Library expanded into a second room. This additional space gave more room for computers and a reading area. Also in 2006, the library materials were bar coded, which makes them accessible to 65 libraries in the North Country Library System.

The library is located at 365 West First Street, in the Catholic Charities Building. The library manager is Janelle Wallace and Sue Hutchins is her co-worker. The hours are Wednesdays and Fridays from 1 pm to 5 pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm. The phone number is 598-5896.
