FULTON – At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Dan Farfaglia introduced Phil Church.

Church is Oswego County Administrator and a driving force for the creation of a National Marine Sanctuary in eastern Lake Ontario.
He gave an overview of the more than 20 known and 48 suspected historic shipwrecks and one aircraft that are within the Lake Ontario nomination area and a history and updated timeline of the nomination and designation process.
The Great Lake Ontario National Marine Sanctuary submittal passed the nomination process and is currently being considered for a “designation” status.
The Fulton Sunrise Rotary meets every Friday at 7 a.m. at Mimi’s.
