Seen Enough Tobacco Reality Check Action Day

OSWEGO – On October 13, Reality Check youth of Oswego, Onondaga and Cayuga counties will come together to take action with a unified Seen Enough Tobacco message aimed at educating the community about the tobacco industry’s manipulative marketing practices.

The message is centered around the number 13, in that the average age of a new smoker in New York State is 13 years old.

The goal is to have a cohesive presence with common messaging across the state on the same day to build momentum around the Seen Enough Tobacco campaign.

Reality Check is seeking 13 school organizations to participate in the day by creating a visual display of pinwheels and yard signs to illustrate is the average age youth begins smoking in NY.

Participating schools will receive all needed materials, provided and distributed by Reality Check, to assemble their display.
